We hosted our second wine event, the Yacht, Wine & Dine –  BYOB Event, on November 24, 2022, this time with Silenus Singapore and Aquaholic.

In order to set the stage, let’s say that this all began following our last wine tasting charter. Following that evening, our team discussed how we could improve the process based on what we learned from the guests and our own observations.

Again, we aimed to provide a way for individuals to charter a yacht and take part in its amenities without having to form a large group. Anyone could come onboard as part of a duo, trio, or even solo. After getting such a good response to our first event, we decided that we should hold these kinds of events every month.

When planning for our November 24th charter, we knew we had a lot of things to do to make things better. Most notably, the ambiance, the schedule, and, of course, the food! In the past, we had only offered charcuterie platters and light bites, but this time we planned on serving a full BBQ meal, complete with appetizers and savory meats.

Changing the event to a BYOB one was Chuhai Time’s idea because we hoped it would encourage people to meet and talk to new friends while also allowing them to share their wine with others.

Sue-Ann from Silenus was hosting them in the lobby of One Degree 15 while the Chuhai team was out on the yacht setting the table. She even popped open a bottle of champagne and got the party started without us! However, have no fear—we managed to catch up! By now, everybody was raring to get the party rolling and get out on the water.

We did not take the time to break the ice with guests, instead allowing events to unfold naturally. Everyone was given carte blanche after the mandatory safety briefing. A few of our guests jumped into the water as soon as we anchored, and the rest of them, laughing and taking pictures.

I was looking forward to seeing how this charter would be unique, so I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly everything went. We all got along great, and we were all chatting and joking and occasionally breaking into choruses of songs that our designated DJ had played.

There was more than enough food to satisfy everyone and make them happy, and there was enough wine to make a few people flush. While most of the party remained at the table to partake in the freshly barbecued fare and newly opened bottles of wine, a select few watched the sunset from the bow (front of the boat). Because Aquaholic is such a fantastic vessel, hosting the event there was a brilliant idea. A small group of guests made heavy use of the three large bean bags and the netting area in the bow.

I particularly appreciated the suggestion that, at future events, we make hard liquor available to those who wish to have them. Envision yourself sipping whiskey while enjoying a juicy steam, isn’t that the life.

On the trip, we bonded over shared meals, drinks, songs, and dances, and met some great new people. The Chuhai Time crew would like to extend its appreciation to the guests, the Silenus crew, the Aquaholic crew, and everyone else who helped make this charter a success.

We hope to hold similar gatherings once a month in the future, and we welcome both returning attendees and curious newcomers. You won’t regret spending your time and money on a charter with Chuhai Time!
